Bedfordshire removals — home & business

Removals across the county, done simply.

Modern home and business moves right across Bedfordshire — Bedford, Dunstable, Leighton Buzzard, Biggleswade and every town and village between. And when the move is a bigger one, we take it into Europe.

Bedfordshire, county-wide

We are a Bedfordshire removals firm — the whole county, not one town. Most weeks that means a house move somewhere between the Ouse valley and the Chilterns edge: a terrace by the Bedford Embankment, a family house in Flitwick, a downsizer in Biggleswade. Some weeks it means an office changing premises, or a load heading down the M1 and over the Channel. Same crew, same care, whichever it is.

What you get is people who actually know the ground. We know how the M1 behaves at Junction 13 on a Friday, which Ampthill frontages sit well back from the road, and where the newer Houghton Regis estates leave you carrying further than you would like. That local read is the quiet difference between a move that runs to plan and one that eats the day.

The county

Coverage across Bedfordshire

Four corners of the county, one local crew. Each town has its own quirks — a conservation-area High Street here, a new estate with shared parking there — and we plan the van around them.

Bedford & the Ouse valley

Bedford

MK40–42

The county town on the Great Ouse — Victorian terraces around the Embankment and Castle Road, town-centre flats, and postwar suburbs out toward Brickhill and Goldington. Riverside streets and one-way loops need the van placed with a bit of thought.

Kempston

MK42

Bedford’s neighbour to the south-west — a broad mix of interwar and modern estates off the Bedford Road, mostly kind driveways with the odd tight close.

Dunstable & the Downs

Dunstable

LU5–6

Under the Chilterns and the Dunstable Downs, at the meeting of the A5 and A505. Town-centre terraces and hillside estates where the gradient and the parking both earn a mention on moving day.

Houghton Regis

LU5

North of Dunstable with a lot of newer growth off the A5/M1 link — modern closes, shared parking, and roads still bedding in around the newest developments.

Leighton Buzzard & the west

Leighton Buzzard

LU7

A canal-and-market town on the Grand Union in the county’s west — a handsome High Street conservation area, narrow historic frontages, and newer estates spreading toward Linslade.

Ampthill

MK45

A Georgian market town on the greensand ridge — period houses around the town centre with set-back access, plus the villages and lanes of the surrounding ridge.

Flitwick

MK45

A commuter town beside Ampthill with a busy station and a lot of family housing — modern estates, cul-de-sacs, and the school-run parking that comes with them.

Biggleswade & the east (SG)

Biggleswade

SG18

A market town on the A1 in the east of the county — a traditional centre and market square, riverside stock along the Ivel, and retail-park growth off the trunk road.

Sandy

SG19

On the A1 and the East Coast Main Line, near the RSPB’s Sandy Lodge — a compact town of terraces and post-war housing, with greensand hills right on the edge.

Shefford

SG17

A small town where the Flit meets the Ivel, between Bedford and the SG belt — period cottages, modern infill, and quiet village approaches around it.

Moving to or from Luton? It has its own dedicated movers, so we keep our focus on the rest of Bedfordshire — but if your move touches Luton at one end, just ask and we will tell you honestly what we can do.

Moving home

For households

From a first flat in Bedford to a family house in the market towns, we handle the whole thing — packing, dismantling, the careful carry down a period staircase, and setting it all down in the right rooms at the other end.

FAQ

A few things people ask first

Do you cover the whole of Bedfordshire?

We do — right across the county. Bedford and Kempston, Dunstable and Houghton Regis under the Downs, Leighton Buzzard and Ampthill and Flitwick in the west, and the SG towns out east: Biggleswade, Sandy and Shefford. If you are moving anywhere in the MK, LU or SG parts of Bedfordshire, we cover it.

Do you move people abroad from Bedfordshire?

Yes. The county is well placed for it — the M1 and A1 both run down to the M25 and the Channel crossings. We handle European moves from Bedfordshire to France, Italy, Spain and Portugal, customs paperwork included. Tell us where you are heading and we will plan the route.

How do you work out a quote?

From the volume of what is moving, the distance, and the access at both ends. The clearest way is a quick survey — in person or over a video call — so nothing is missed. Once we have looked at it, the written quote follows by email with the scope set out plainly.

Can you move at short notice?

Often, yes — it depends on the week. County towns get busy around month-ends and school holidays, so the earlier you can pin a date the better, but always ask. We would rather hear from you late than have you assume it is not possible.
